A network organisation of sector experts, founded to strengthen sustainable forest use, agroforestry and durable livelihoods in Suriname.
FASS was established to carry out and support projects that strengthen sustainable forest use, agroforestry and durable livelihoods. At its core, FASS converts best practices in forest management and agroforestry into tangible results for organisations and communities.
Our mission is explicitly aimed at building the capacity of organisations and individuals — so that both people and forests can thrive.

We start with legitimacy — a correct entry through traditional authority and local governance, and a transparent explanation of goals — then translate ambition into practical action.
Engagement begins through traditional authority and local governance, with clear, transparent goals — the basis for genuine local ownership.
Standardised field methods feed an analysis that says plainly what is possible, what is not, and under which conditions.
Our reports show what exists, what is missing, where the risks are, and what an organisation should do next.
A deliberately compact, functional board keeps decision-making fast and delivery on track.
Strategic leadership and external representation.
Governance continuity and formal record-keeping.
Financial management and oversight.
Tropical forester leading project coordination, field logistics and reporting since founding.
Strengthening administration and internal consistency since 2025.
FASS works without fixed staff, mobilising the right specialists for each assignment, location and required expertise.
